Minecraft Hexxit

One of the most famous games for its choice of mods is Minecraft. Minecraft as most people know is a game that consist of surviving a strange world where everything is made out of blocks. The main features of the game are crafting items, building, exploring , and mining for resources. What makes Minecraft extremely famous is that every world is generated and never ending, meaning a player can potentially explore the world forever and never come across the same piece of land. This allows for mods to have massive creativity and completely change the dynamic of the game.

Hexxit is an extremely popular mod that adds tons of new items, exploration points, and gameplay. Hexxit at its core focuses on transforming Minecraft into an exploring and fighting game. Hexxit uses the Minecraft engine in order to have a never ending amount of structures and enemies for the player. Just like Anne-Marie says “modders infiltrate a wealthier game system”(Anne-Marie 36). Hexxit uses the wealthy industry of Minecraft in order to reach millions of players and transmit their way of playing the game and their vision of what is Minecraft. Hexxit is one of the best examples of a mods using a wealthy game as its host and becoming famous through the process.
