The game that I have been playing the most recently and getting the most enjoyable time is Rocket League. In case you have been living under a rock I will explain what the game has to offer. Rocket League has become an extremely successful eSports title that is available in every gaming platform. This has allowed the game to gather both competitive console players and PC players, which had not been done before in any category of eSports games. The game is about playing soccer with extremely advanced cars that can fly and do double jumps. The game also features a giant ball that has different physics than what a normal person would expect. The combination of the two things allow for the game to have major skills gaps that create their player base. While the game has a solid fun aspect what makes it extremely available is the addition of its simple yet detail aesthetic that makes it fun to look at for all ages.

Rocket League is a game that will definitely give the players an adrenaline rush. The game focuses in short matches (only five minutes per match without overtime) where every second counts. This creates and extremely competitive environment for every player, and pushes them into getting better at the game or becoming stuck in a certain skill range. When it comes to technicity the game definitely pushes the player to hold the controller or keyboard in a ready sort of stance; for example: players with controllers might be more inclined to have a claw style sort of grip, while mouse and keyboard will basically stay the same. This demonstrates that the game is more culturally inclined for the players who are very competitive and features extremely good hand to eye coordination, and reflexes. But just like according to out reading “For every group of hard-core first person shooter (FPS) online gamers taking their play very seriously, there is another group playing ironically” (Dovey and Kennedy 76). The bottom ranks of Rocket League are filled with players who play the game extremely casually and have no idea about complex moves or strategies. No matter what type of player Rocket League manages to engage the player’s adrenaline and dopamine which will be activated throughout the match, causing a sensation of excitement and enjoyment.

This video shows the basic mechanics of Rocket League and is the perfect example of a normal let’s play video.

This video demonstrates just how competitive and complex the game can become.
